ia keloid has formed righhhhht next to my nose piercing and i haven’t soaked it with saline solution yet but i have been soaking it with warm water and iodized salt. i’ve heard from a lot of people that tea tree oil can be effective, is that a bad idea? should i just simply leave it alone or try saline solution?

Hi, I’m 14 and I was wondering would I be aloud to get a nostril piercing if I accompanied by an adult? And do you do 3rd lobe piercings?

The red bumps that commonly occur after a nose piercing go away with time. They are caused by irritation from changing jewelry too soon, banging your piercing, snagging it with a towel, over cleaning and drying it up, over touching it…. etc. Different methods work for different people. Soaking it in warm saline solution daily seems to be the best method. We do not recommend any type of alcohol, bactine, hydrogen peroxide or any other antiseptic. The piercing is not infected, it is irritated. The bump is usually prolonged by people who over clean the piercing causing it to dry out and become more irritated. I have found the best course of action is just leaving it alone, which seems to be the hardest course of action in most cases. They can take up to a month to go away, but they will go away over time.
